"All nationalists have the power of not seeing resemblances between similar sets of facts...Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them, and there is almost no kind of outrage—torture, the use of hostages, forced labour, mass deportations, imprisonment without trial, forgery, assassination, the bombing of civilians—which does not change its moral colour when it is committed by ‘our’ side." As discussed before, I've set up a mailing list. I'm skeptical about this, not so much because I don't think it's a good method of communcation but because mailing lists are notorious for being spam havens. Posted by Dennis DeSantis @ 12:41 PM EST Tuesday, May 18, 2004 Would it be useful for me to set up a mailing list? Does anyone really need yet another piece of email getting in the way of all of the penis enlargement ads? I'd like your thoughts on this. Posted by Dennis DeSantis @ 07:54 PM EST Wednesday, May 5, 2004 I've done a new remix, this time for the new Brian Kage EP on Thinner. Grab it - as always, Thinner releases are completely free. Let's get to know Lynndie: ![]() Lynndie R. England, age 21, grew up in a trailer park in Fort Ashby, West Virginia. According to this article, Lynndie's a bit of a home-town hero. Her picture is on the wall of the local Wal-Mart. Her mom, Terrie, is mighty proud, and more than a little bothered by the fact that her daughter has become an overnight sensation. Mom calls the alleged abuses "stupid kid things - pranks". I guess that's West Virginia-ese for what's known in the Hague as "war crimes." ![]() Lynndie joined the reserves to raise money for college. If there's any justice, she'll be using that money to buy extra cigarettes at the prison store instead. America's finest. Working hard to give the people of Iraq a better future. Posted by Dennis DeSantis @ 06:40 PM EST Saturday, May 1, 2004 George W. Bush wants Americans to know that he's mad about the torture being inflicted upon Iraqi prisoners at the hands of American grunts. When asked to talk about his reaction to the pictures, he said, "their treatment does not reflect the nature of the American people. That's not the way we do things in America. I didn't like it one bit." Don't believe it for a minute. The gradual and systematic dehumanization of the Muslim world is pretty much at the top of this administration's agenda. It's the single most powerful force in American politics today - much more important than jobs, health care, or any other domestic issues. The "war on terror" is nothing of the kind. It's not about making America safe. It's about making America hate Arabs. The treatment of those prisoners ABSOLUTELY reflects the true nature of the American people in 2004. George Bush also told us that the terrorists (and thus, the entire Arab world) hate us because we're free. Don't believe that for a minute either. The hate us because we're assholes.
